About Me.

FATHER, SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER

My Background

I am first-generation American. My parents immigrated to the United States in their late teens, from Former Yugoslavia and Italy. They met in ESL night classes not long after they arrived to the U.S. I, myself, was an English language learner. Despite being born in the U.S., by the time I reached Kindergarten I could not speak English. I am proud to say that so much of who I am today and my values are informed by my experiences as a first-generation American in a multi-ethnic, multi-faith family.

MORE ABOUT ME

Arben spent nearly fifteen years as an IT and management consultant in city, state, and federal government. I also co-founded and served in leadership positions in a number of nonprofits. My passions lie in uplifting and mentoring culturally diverse youth, helping them to chart their own individual leadership journeys, creating spaces that build confidence in combination with skills, and helping them find their voice in the process. I am one of the 2023 NOVA 40Under40 Honorees. I am an alumnus of Harvard Business School (HBS) and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy. I currently live in Ashburn, VA with my wife and son.
